Review: The Books, The Way Out
The Way Out begins with a clear, male speaking voice: “Hello, greetings, and welcome. Welcome to a new beginning.” Nothing could be more appropriate for the start of this album, the fifth studio release from New York folktronica duo The Books. The album is an entirely new world in itself, a surreal journey of overlapping sounds and voices, and one that even by the end of the album you’ll be sad you have to leave.
