Sun; pouring rain; more sun; more pouring rain – the Sweetlife Festival definitely had its share of weird early summer weather. But none of that detracted from the experience that was had listening to the bands playing there last Saturday. If anything, the pouring rain added to the religious experience – especially during Phoenix’s set.

Spring Concert: Kids These Days

If you haven’t heard by now, WGTB will be hosting Chicago based band Kids These Days on Saturday, April 27, in Bulldog Alley. Kids These Days is a hip-hop, blues, rock and soul septet comprised of the following band members: Macie Stewart (Vocals/keys), Nico Segal (Trumpet), J.P. Floyd (Trombone), Vic Mensa (Rapper), Lane Beckstrom (Bass), Greg Landfair Jr (Drums),  and Liam Cunningham (Guitar/Vocals).

Album Review: Alfa, World Go Blue

I should know by now not to judge an album by its cover. Sadly, I still do it. And admittedly, I was surprised when World Go Blue sounded a lot better than its cover made it out to be. World Go Blue is the 5th album by folk-pop singer and songwriter Alfa Garcia and was funded entirely by 132 supporters via Kickstarter.
