Eric Hutchinson, the mastermind behind songs such as “Rock & Roll” and “Ok, It’s Alright With Me,” is headlining at the 9:30 Club this Wednesday with special guests Humming House and Matt Mackelcan.
Over his past 15 years of making music and touring, Hutchinson has crafted a unique soul-pop sound that is that is both catchy and infectious. On stage, he is known for his sharp, often colorful suits and the toned down renditions of his popular hits.
Hutchinson is currently on tour supporting his latest release Easy Street, which dropped this summer. The album was entirely produced by Hutchinson himself and features the song he has been “trying to write [his] entire career,” “Anyone Who Knows Me.”
Wednesday’s show at the 9:30 Club will also be Hutchinson’s last show for an indefinite amount of time. Hutchinson has decided to take a break from music and touring, and decided that the 9:30 Club was the perfect venue to end his run, both because of the venue’s legendary status and because he is a DMV native.
