The title of this show—A Hora do Brasil (Brazil Hour)—was the name of a radio program run by the Brazilian dictator, Getúlio Vargas. That program featured, among other things, patriotic march songs and speeches from the dictator himself. Unlike the Hora do Brasil of yesteryear, however, this program features the best Brazilian music has to offer—from samba to bossa nova, tropicália to MPB! Though most of the lyrics are in Portuguese, the songs can be enjoyed by all.
