Slaughter Beach, Dog at the 9:30 Club on 10/7

This upcoming Monday, October 7, Slaughter Beach, Dog will take to the stage at the 9:30 Club as the penultimate stop on their tour. Playing their 2023 studio album, Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling, the indie folk-rock band is sure to bring an intimate live show filled with cloying yet transparent lyrics and comforting music abound.

The group began in 2014 as the solo project of Jake Ewald’s – the co-vocalist of the Philadelphia-based emo band Modern Baseball’s – to overcome his writer’s block. The band initially served as an outlet for the songs that didn’t fit into Modern Baseball’s emo repertoire, but soon after Modern Baseball’s indefinite hiatus began in 2017, Ewald’s solo project expanded to include Ian Farmer (also from Modern Baseball) on the bass, Nick Harris (from All Dogs) on the guitar, and Zack Robbins (from Superheaven) on the drums with Ewald leading the vocals. Following Harris’s departure from the band in 2020, Adam Meisterhans took over guitar in 2022. Since their career began, Slaughter Beach, Dog has produced two LPs, and five studio albums, the most recent of which will be featured on this tour.

The band Rich Ruth will open with ambient, meditative tunes, and this is, for sure, a show you won’t want to miss! Tickets can be purchased at this link.
