What do Ringo Starr, Stevie Nicks, and Bruce Springsteen have in common, besides being rock legends? They’ve all performed in, or in Starr’s case led, Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band, a band composed entirely of exactly that: All-Stars. On Tuesday, September 17, Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band will bring their latest tour to Washington, DC. The band is set to play at a local staple, the Anthem.
Each performance by this star-studded line up includes 10-12 songs by Starr, during and beyond his Beatles career, as well as 2-3 songs by each of his All-Starr band members. The band currently consists of Ringo Starr, Warren Ham (Toto), Edgar Winter (Edgar Winter Group), Steve Lukather (Toto), Hamish Stuart (Average White Band), Colin Hay (Men at Work), and Gregg Bissonette (jazz instrumentalist).
Since its founding in 1989, Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band has been consistently touring for three decades. Although none of the band’s songs are original, given the revolving glass door of band members, audiences are consistently treated to new set lists on each tour. The 2024 set list includes popular songs like “Yellow Submarine,” “Africa,” “Octopus’s Garden” and “Who Can It Be Now?”
If you want to take a tour through 80s rock and soul music, listening to live music that your dad would blast in the car during your childhood, buy your tickets for the 15th Ringo Starr & His All Starr Band concert coming to DC next week!
