Preview + Playlist: MICHELLE and Sidney Gish @ BDA

Join WGTB on Saturday February 26 to welcome MICHELLE and Sidney Gish for our annual Spring concert. The show will take place in Bulldog Alley (behind the WGTB studio in the Leavey Center) and doors will open at 7 pm.

Sidney Gish is a 24 year old musician who began her music career during her time at Northeastern University. Her two albums, No Dogs Allowed (2017) and Ed Buys Houses (2016), explore the angst of youth with wit and humor. Her music is catchy, clever, and incredibly relatable, with stand out songs such as “Presumably Dead Arm”, “Not but for You, Bunny” and “I Eat Salads Now.” Keep an eye out for her next release for Sub Pop’s single club during 2022.

MICHELLE, a band formed by New York natives Sofia D’Angelo, Julian Kaufman, Charlie Kilgore, Layla Ku, Emma Lee, and Jamee Lockard, is an indie-pop group started in NYC in 2018. Their first album HEATWAVE was released that year and celebrates youth through explorations of the bedroom pop and R&B genres. With hits such as the titular “HEATWAVE” along with “THE BOTTOM” and “STUCK ON U”, the band established themselves as experts in groove and feel good anthems. Since the release, they’ve collaborated and toured with Arlo Parks along with opening for Gus Daperton on his latest U.S. tour. Their sophomore album, AFTER DINNER WE TALK DREAMS, is set to be released on March 4, 2022. The singles, “SYNCOPATE”, “MESS U MADE” and “EXPIRATION DATE”, have set the bar high for their sophomore album. They are also set to tour with Mitski this Spring.

WGTB is ecstatic to welcome both MICHELLE and Sidney Gish to Georgetown this Saturday, February 26th. Listen to their essential songs here, and buy tickets for the 26th here.
