After canceling a series of performances in 2022 to prioritize her mental health, Arlo Parks is back on tour and stepping into the spotlight! Parks is performing back to back shows this weekend in Washington, D.C. at the 9:30 Club on Friday March 22 and Saturday March 23, 2024. Parks is very open about her journey with her mental health and tackles themes of depression, vulnerability, and love in her music. While the subject matter of her latest album My Soft Machine is similar to that of her first project Collapsed in Sunbeams, Parks begins to veer away from her signature light and airy sound with her sophomore album. Tracks “Devotion” and “Puppy” stick out on My Soft Machine as they feature comparably heavier guitar, drums, and bass and a bit of a techno flair, respectively.
