Preview: The Dip @ Black Cat 3/27

It’s gonna get funky this Sunday as Black Cat welcomes retro-soul band The Dip alongside local legends Oh He Dead for a sold out show.

The Dip, a seven-piece band from Seattle, recently released their third full-length album Sticking With It. This album, their first for Americana label Dualtone (Langhorne Slim, Shakey Graves, Gregory Alan Isakov), showcases the band’s knack for smooth grooves and vintage R’n’B. The band have built a loyal following through their impressive live shows, as attested by the many sold out dates on their current tour.

The Dip find the perfect match with tour mates Oh He Dead. These locals were impressing DC audiences for years with their throwback soul sound before breaking onto the national scene with their debut, self-titled album in 2019. Fresh off last year’s headlining debut at the 9:30 Club and the release of two infectious new singles, “Bottle It Up” and “Is It My Love,” they are almost certain to steal the show this weekend.
