Jeff Lynne’s ELO at Capital One Arena, September 25

On September 25, get ready to board  the “Last Train to London” for Jeff Lynne’s ELO (formerly Electric Light Orchestra)’s stop at Capital One Arena on their final tour. “The Over and Out Tour” began in late August in Palm Beach, California, and is set to conclude in late October in Los Angeles. Composer Jeff Lynne is the sole original member playing his signature guitar and vocals.

The band is known for their combination of pop, rock, orchestral arrangements, and clever yet catchy lyricism. ELO was formed in 1970’s England and had major success with Top 100 hits, including “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Last Train to London,” and “Evil Woman.” Lynne revived the band in the 2000’s for new music and old renditions, and in 2014 the band was rebranded to its new current name for “The Festival In A Day at Hyde Park” Tour. Their most recent North American tour was called “Shine A Little Love” in 2019.

This final tour will showcase the old and new for ELO–some recent pieces and old classics. Lynne is accompanied by a backing band including Mike Stecens and Milton McDonald on guitar, Lee Pomeroy on bass, Donavan Hepburn on drums, Marcus Byrne on keys, and a three-piece string section. Overall, the tour is a grand finale for the over half-a-century career of ELO and Jeff Lynne. Tickets are still available if you would like to see one of the most influential rock bands of all time.
