Death Cab For Cutie have undoubtedly had some lows over the years. Their last release, Codes & Keys, may have been the worst album of the band’s career, and they lost founding band member and producer, Chris Walla, last fall. The lineup change is audible, but not a detriment, on “Black Sun,” their synth-driven lead single on their upcoming eighth LP, Kintsugi. It’s a promising track and makes me think Kintsugi, set for release March 31st, was worth the wait.
