“How Could You Babe” – Tobias Jesso Jr.
Early last year Tobias Jesso Jr. appeared seemingly out of nowhere like a lo-fi reimagining of James Taylor. Emerging from the fuzz of bedroom recording, “How Could You Babe” showcases the velvety-smooth crooning we can expect from his forthcoming album, Goon. Jesso reminds me that sometimes a voice and an instrument are all that’s needed to sound entirely unlike anything else.
