Alternative indie rock band Rainbow Kitten Surprise will take to the stage at The Anthem this Wednesday, October 16 to perform hit classics along with their newest album, Love Hate Music Box.
The band name certainly piques the interest of music-lovers who haven’t ever heard an RKS song, which came about when a friend in the hospital said the three words “Rainbow Kitten Surprise” together in “perfect harmony” during delirium. RKS is best known for their haunting, melodic melodies with deep lyrics embedded with biblical references and catchy baselines that fans have claimed make for a “religious concert experience.” Concerts are full of energy with unique lighting design and stage work.
Returning from a short hiatus this concert season, Rainbow Kitten Surprise will continue their musical journey in a new form after the departure of a beloved original band member, and will be joined by openers Brook & the Bluff, Madi Diaz and Medium Build. Love Hate Music Box is the band’s 4th studio album and first full-length one in six years. It follows the hit record How to: Friend, Love, Freefall which features well-known tracks such as “It’s Called: Freefall” and “Painkillers.”
