Preview: Valentine’s Day with Protomartyr @ Black Cat

Protomartyr will be playing the Black Cat tomorrow night. Supported by Priests and Protect-U, the Detroit post-punk band is sure to deliver their noisy, yet atmospheric, sound.

D.C. is one of many stops on an extensive US and Euro tour to promote their third album The Agent Intellect.  The subjects discussed in the band’s third album are heavy, confronting the disappointment and every day aggressions of life. Yet, even with the weight of all this, the sound remains spacious and absorbable.

Although the headliner is reason enough to spend Valentine’s day at Black Cat, the supporting acts are equally as attractive. Priests is a D.C. based punk band that has carried Kathleen Hanna’s pointed and angsty sound to the present. Also on the ticket, is Protect-U a D.C. based electronic musician.

Bring your hot date or fly solo at Black Cat tomorrow night for a noisy show of which Cupid would definitely approve.

Tickets are still available. Find them here.
