Buckethead at 9:30 Club this Saturday (9/14)

This Saturday, Buckethead, the mysterious masked guitar virtuoso will perform at the 9:30 club as part of a nationwide tour.

Known for wearing a white Michael Myers-esque mask, and a KFC bucket on his head (hence the name), Buckethead is one of the most unique guitarists out there. Born in 1969, Brian Patrick Caroll (his real name), was raised in the suburbs of LA and learned to play guitar at the age of twelve. He released his first of 31 solo albums (and more than 650 in his “Pike” albums!), Bucketheadland, in 1992, which contains his signature style of fast paced guitar riffage and technical solos. Buckethead, however, has not constrained himself to one particular genre– playing anything from funk to progressive metal to ambient.

Buckethead is most well-known for his time playing with Guns n’ Roses between 2000 and 2004, recording with them for the record Chinese Democracy. Besides that, his main following comes from guitar lovers (like myself), who admire his innovative and skillful approach to the instrument. To this day, he remains a mysterious figure with few pictures of him online and not much known about his personal life.

Tickets for the show can be found here. Buy them soon before they sell out!
