Preview: Cuco at The Anthem on Friday, October 11th

Cuco’s stellar rise has been unprecedented. He made his first mixtape in his bedroom in 2016, 2 years later he began to work with artists such as Clairo, and in 2019 he signed a 7-figure deal that elevated his production. His music speaks to the soul of Generation Z by combining Lo-Fi hip hop – which fuels the generation’s study sessions – with indie-pop – which speaks to the hearts of a generation that doom-scrolls and longs to feel. His dreamy beats and lyrics, brimming with emotion and meaning, are distinctive to him.

Cuco’s music, which combines Bedroom-Pop, Hip-Hop, and Psychedelia-Pop, is enhanced by his bilingualism. He masterfully combines English and Spanish to strengthen his music and meaning. He has found his distinct voice and place in an era when much of the music is the same and people are afraid to deviate from the “indie” sound. Cuco, on the other hand, is not afraid to try new things.

Cuco will be coming to DC this Saturday for his 4U Tour. He released his EP “Hitchhiker” last year, and this year he has worked on singles with a variety of artists, including Niko Rubio. With two albums and three EPs, an unmatched music style, and dreamy vocals, Cuco’s concert will be an experience. Tickets are available here.
