Playlist: Best of September 2015

September was a good month for new music. Phantogram and Outkast’s Big Boi teamed up for a collaborative release under the name Big Grams, Arcade Fire released a never-before heard deluxe edition of Reflektor and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. rebranded under the name JR JR to release a self-titled LP. Though “best” is a subjective term, I’ve put together a playlist of some of my favorite songs from some of last month’s notable single and album releases for your listening enjoyment.

Widowspeak—“Stoned” from All Yours

Family of the Year—“Make You Mine” from Family of the Year

Beirut—“At Once” from No No No

Darwin Deez—“The Mess She Made” from Double Down

CHVRCHES—“Clearest Blue” from Every Open Eye

Kurt Vile—“Lost my Head there” from b’lieve i’m going down…

Youth Lagoon—“Rotten Human” from Savage Hills Ballroom

Big Grams—“Run for Your Life” from Big Grams

JR JR—“Caroline” from JR JR

The Radio Dept.—“This Repeated Sodomy” from This Repeated Sodomy (Single)

Arcade Fire—“Soft Power” from Reflektor (Deluxe)

Julia Holter—“Feel You” from Have You In My Wilderness

Bonus: Animal Collective—“Brother Sport – Live” from Live at 9:30
