If you’re a big Tame Impala fan, then you might enjoy this piece of news: Cameron Avery, the band’s bassist (and singer, songwriter, etc.), is taking some alone time and working on his debut solo album! Red Dreams, Pipe Dreams is set to be released on March 10th, and there are already two singles out for our enjoyment. I came across one of them, “C’est Toi,” on Spotify a couple of weeks ago and was surprised at the difference between Avery’s sound and that of Tame Impala. I couldn’t imagine anyone from the band doing anything … not psychedelic pop? I’m not going to lie – I was a bit disappointed, but only until I told myself to ignore the fact that Avery was in any way affiliated with TI. So forget I told you anything about that, and listen to this short playlist based on the two singles, “C’est Toi” and “Wasted on Fidelity.”
