Wallows at Merriweather Post Pavilion this 8/22

Far from ‘Scrawny’ roots, alternative rock band Wallows will continue their world tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion on Thursday, August 22, following the release of third studio album Model.

2018’s Spring EP bore witness to Wallows in their formative years, a few years after the boys started playing as part of a music program in Los Angeles. As the band’s garage-style production and existential lyrics garnered devoted support, and creative collaborations like “Are You Bored Yet?” with Clairo in 2019 and “OK” with Remi Wolf in 2021 welcomed new audiences, Wallows catapulted into the limelight.

Listening to Wallows fails to be a singular experience; as their audience evolves, so do they. So, naturally, it makes sense that Model, described by co-lead singer Dylan Minnette as “the most Wallows that Wallows has ever been,” holds the most mature sound of the band yet. From brash anthems to romantic odes, all with the intimacy of confessions whispered into one’s ear, Wallows reveals the distance they traveled since they arrived on the music scene.
