Grande Finale of Mitski’s Performances @ Merriweather Post Pavilion this Sunday (9/1)

This Sunday, September 1st, will be the grande finale of Mitski’s three-day performance at Merriweather Post Pavilion—the first artist to play three nights at Merriweather since 1994! The iconic Maryland venue will host an unforgettable night with indie rock sensation Mitski and opening act Sierra Ferrell.

Mitsuki Miyawaki, commonly known as Mitski, has become one of the most compelling voices over the past decade. Her raw, emotionally-charged lyrics and genre-bending sound have won the hearts of music-lovers from all walks of life. From the lo-fi intimacy of her early work to the polished power of her recent albums, Mitski’s evolution as an artist has been nothing short of remarkable as she continues to explore themes of love, heartache, and identity in her music. Her latest album, “The Land is Inhospitable and So Are We,” has been hailed as her most ambitious and introspective work to date. With haunting melodies and deeply intimate lyrics, this album illuminates Mitski’s signature themes of isolation, belonging, and the human condition, but with a newfound maturity and nuance that paints her artistic progression. Fans can expect to hear new tracks such as “My Love All Mine Now,” along with her iconic hits such as “I Bet on Losing Dogs,” and “Washing Machine Heart,” along others from her extensive catalog during this historic three-night run. Her live performances are known for her intensity and vulnerability, creating a transcendent night for audiences to experience her art and raw emotion.

Opening the venue is Sierra Ferrell, a West Virginia native who’s been climbing the ranks in the Americana and folk scenes. Ferrell’s unique blend of country, jazz, and splashes of Latin-style music creates a sound that’s both nostalgic and refreshingly original. Her 2021 debut album, “Long Time Coming,” showcases her compelling vocals and masterful songwriting. Many have compared her to Americana legends such as Dolly Parton and Emmylou Harris.
