The Knocks are back at it again with new music! Their latest release, entitled “HEAT,” features Sam Nelson Harris, who is the lead vocalist for X Ambassadors. Hailing from New York City, James Patterson and Ben Ruttner make up the duo that is The Knocks. Specializing in melodic, up-beat dance music, The Knocks got their start with remixes of pop ballads, including Katy Perry’s “I Kissed a Girl” and Chris Brown’s “Beautiful People.” The Knocks are no stranger to Georgetown either, as they were the headliner for the 2014 Kickback.
Their latest release comes on the heels of their first debut album, 55, which featured collabs with Walk the Moon, Magic Man, and Fetty Wap, just to name a few. The lead singer of X Ambassadors is responsible for the vocals on their newest track, bringing the soul and grit that characterizes their sound to a dance track. With a sultry, R&B-infused sound, HEAT will have you swaying to beat and your finger stuck to the play button. It’s safe to say that I’m addicted.
