Preview: Anderson .Paak at the Merriweather Post Pavilion on Wednesday, October 9th

Anderson .Paak will be coming to Maryland on Wednesday, October 9th to play at the Merriweather Post Pavilion. Concert-goers to Anderson .Paak’s Malibu Tour can expect to hear an amalgamation of beats with influences ranging from hip-hop to soul to rock to R&B. Anderson .Paak’s eclectic music is the product of him drawing on many musical influences. His unique, funky sound can be linked to the creations of his childhood musical heroes which include but are not limited to Al Green, Curtis Mayfield, Timbaland, Aaliyah, D’Angelo, and Tupac. 

Anderson .Paak creates music as both a solo artist and as a member of collaborative albums. Two of his most recent collaborative albums include Why Lawd? with NxWorries and Knxwledge (2024) and An Evening with Silk Sonic with Bruno Mars (2021). Similarly, his new single that was put out on August 29th titled “On Sum” was made in collaboration with TOKiMONSTA and Rae Khalil. Though most of his recent music is the product of collaborative efforts, the Malibu Tour will showcase Anderson .Paak’s 2016 album Malibu, as he will play the album in its entirety! Across all of his projects, Anderson .Paak delivers music that makes people want to get up and dance. Malibu, specifically, delivers beat-centered music that the audience will feel in their soul.
