Måneskin will be playing the Merriweather Post in Columbia, MD on Saturday, September 23rd in support of their January 2023 release, RUSH! The album has received rave reviews by Rolling Stone, NME, and more. The album has been called a “modern rock masterpiece” by Subjective Sounds, and extends Måneskin’s reign over rock music after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. The album features the hit “GOSSIP” featuring Tom Morello, of famed rock band Rage Against the Machine.
The band consists of four members, Vocalist Damiano David, Bassist Victoria de Angelis, Drummer Ethan Torchio, and Electric Guitarist Thomas Raggi. The group came to fame by appearing on X factor Italia in 2017. They became popular among the youth with their cover of the Four Seasons’ “Beggin’’” which went viral online. The Italian band is one of the newest bands in rock at the moment that are making hits. They won the Eurovision Song Contest with their song “Zitti e Buoni”. They have released three studio albums as of 2023, including Il ballo della vita (2018), Teatro D’ira: Vol 1 (2021), and recently, RUSH! They also released their extended play Chosen in 2017. “Beggin ‘’” reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 after their Eurovision win, making them the second winning-act in recent history to break into the chart. They were nominated for Best New Artist at the 2023 Grammys, and most recently won a VMA for Best Rock Video for “The Loneliest”. The New York Times has called them “almost certainly the biggest Italian rock band of all time” showing that they are a force to be reckoned with.
