Once known as Cindy Lou Who, followed by a character on Gossip Girl, Taylor Momsen has established herself as a fierce frontwoman for a hard rock and post-grunge band, The Pretty Reckless. The four-person band, with Momsen on vocals, has grown steadily in the rock scene since 2010.
I remember when I first heard one of their songs, “Make Me Wanna Die.” It was absolutely one of my favorites for a long time and I soon became enamored with the band itself. Taylor Momsen has a certain aura about her when she’s performing, whether live or on camera. As time has passed, she continues to grow as an artist and the band continues to release a new sound with every album. Even though they are ever-changing, they always keep roots of rock and roll in their sound.
Fans love all of their songs but some of the most popular are “Follow Me Down,” “Heaven Knows,” and “Messed Up World.” Check out the video for their most recent hit “Take Me Down.”
With the recent release of their album, Who You Selling For, the band has gone on tour. They will be in Washington, DC on April 26th at the 9:30 Club. You can get your tickets for the show here!
