I still cannot figure out why, but Sixx: A.M. is one of my favorite bands from the past few years. “Are You With Me” comes from the group’s second, and most recent, album This Is Gonna Hurt, an album that has the overall theme of critiquing the American ideal of material beauty. Read More »

Night Beds- Ramona

This song perplexes me. Mostly because it seems so happy, I know it wants to be upbeat, but the lyrics are hauntingly real and honestly sad. Read More »

Album Review: Sadistik, Flowers For My Father

Sadistik-Flowers-for-My-Father-500x500

I’ll admit it. I couldn’t quite take Sadistik seriously at first. With a name that sounds like a bad Linkin Park knockoff, and an album cover like something out of mid-2000′s Evanescence, I was skeptical. Nick-Cave-and-the-Bad-Seeds

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds have had quite a journey in the thirty-some years since the group’s inception. The music has evolved a great deal, yet so has the band’s physical composition: Nick Cave is now the only original member still in the permanent lineup, though Push the Sky Away features contributions from Barry Adamson, an original member who has not been with the band since 1986.

Song of the Day: “Freight Train” – Jerry Garcia & David Grisman

not for kids only
