“Juicy” – Radiation City

I discovered Radiation City’s Cool Nightmare EP on Bandcamp three or four years ago, and I instantly fell in love with their unique, spacey sound. Although they’re not very well-known outside of their native Portland, the group, comprised of Lizzy Ellison, boyfriend Cameron Spies, and a few of their friends, has been infusing the indie rock scene with their blend of sci-fi-tinged, psychedelic rock since 2010. Their third full-length album, Synesthetica, is being recorded by underground indie legend John Vanderslice and is slated for release in February, but you can listen to their first single, “Juicy”, below.

From their eye-catching cover art to their smart lyrics and hazy grooves, Radiation City has a lot going for them and is definitely a group to watch. Want more? The band is coming to DC9 on February 29th, and you can get your tickets here.
