Preview: Bahamas @ 9:30 Club

Singer-songwriter Afie Jurvanen—better known as the solo band Bahamas—will perform at the 9:30 Club in Washington D.C. on October 12th. Jurvanen’s stop in the nation’s capital is the seventh of his Sad Hunk tour. Sad Hunk (2020) has received widespread critical acclaim as well as last year’s Juno Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year. Furthermore, the album peaked at 67 on Billlboard’s Canadian Albums category.

From deep guitar riffs to intricate sonic layering to catchy melodies, Sad Hunk is Bahamas at its best. To top his artistry off, Jurvanen records and arranges all of the music himself. This production ensures each show is an immersive, unique experience. Bahamas is quickly making a name for himself in the folk and indie music scene, and the tremendously talented musician will certainly put on a great show.
