Motivan2, Zion & Lennox

I first heard about Zion when I heard his pop hit “The Way She Moves” featuring Akon in a gas station in Puerto Rico. This song could be heard throughout the island of Puerto Rico in the early 2000s, but that was the last I had heard of him until 2014.

Zion left his solo career to work with Lennox, and this pair has been unstoppable since. Their first hit single, “Pierdo la Cabeza,” could be heard in many countries throughout Latin America and Spain. This catchy song remained very popular among Hispanics in 2015.

Now, in 2016, Zion & Lennox have dropped their new album Motivan2, catching the attention of reggaeton lovers around the world. This album will get you dancing the “underground” way with their typical reggaeton beats. My only critique would be that the beat is very repetitive in the album; in other words, the songs sound very familiar. However, their song “Ni Un Minuto Mas” is more reggae than reggaeton. Personally, this is one of my favorites as it is the most unique song in the album.

In order to attract more listeners and to create a change in style, Zion & Lennox have included many famous artists such as Nicky Jam, J Balvin, and Daddy Yankee in the album. Also, the song “El Tiempo” features R. Kelly and includes English singing to attract the English-speaking population.
